Little Hanzi (Chinese name: “这个字怎么写啊”) helps children and families look up Chinese characters, view stroke order, and practise handwriting. The app requires iOS 18 or later.

Frequently asked questions

How does the free allowance work?

You can look up 50 different Chinese characters for free. Looking up a previously used character does not consume the allowance again. After the allowance is used, all previously learned characters remain available; only lookups of new characters require the one-time purchase.

Sharing an invitation through the app can add 10 free characters. This reward can be claimed once. It is granted after the iOS share action completes and does not verify that another person installed the app.

Invitation sharing is optional. It is not required to review previously learned characters or export input history as CSV.

What does the one-time purchase unlock?

The non-consumable purchase enables unlimited lookups of new Chinese characters. It is not a subscription. Previously learned characters remain available even without the purchase.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Settings, find New character access, and choose Restore purchase. Complete the parent-verification step and make sure the device is signed in to the Apple Account that made the original purchase.

If restoration still fails, confirm that App Store purchases are allowed in Screen Time settings and try again on a stable network.

How do I request a refund?

Apple processes all payments and refund requests. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple Account used for the purchase, and follow Apple’s instructions.

When Apple refunds or revokes the purchase, the app will remove unlimited new-character lookup access after receiving the updated entitlement status. Previously learned characters remain available.

Why is voice search unavailable?

In iOS Settings, verify that Little Hanzi has permission to use both the microphone and speech recognition. Voice recognition may also depend on Apple service availability, network conditions, language support, and device restrictions. Typed search remains available without these permissions.

Why does WeChat not appear in the share list?

The app uses the standard iOS share interface and shares a WeChat-compatible image. WeChat appears only when it is installed, signed in, and made available to the iOS share sheet. You can scroll through the app row, choose More, and enable WeChat when iOS offers it.

How do I clear local information?

Open Settings to clear recent searches or input history. Deleting the app removes ordinary local files and preferences. Trial-character and invitation-reward status may remain in the iOS Keychain so reinstalling the app does not reset the free allowance.

How do I export practice input history?

CSV export is available to both free and paid users and does not require invitation sharing. Open Settings, choose Export CSV, and select a destination in the iOS export interface. The file is generated locally. Little Hanzi does not upload or receive the exported file.

常见问题

免费额度如何计算？

您可以免费查询 50 个不同汉字。重复查询已经使用过的汉字不会再次占用额度。额度用完后，所有已经学过的汉字仍然可以继续查看；只有查询新汉字时才需要一次性买断。

通过 App 完成一次邀请分享可增加 10 个免费汉字，此奖励只能领取一次。奖励会在 iOS 分享操作完成后发放，但 App 不会验证其他人是否安装了 App。

邀请分享是可选操作。查看已经学过的汉字和导出 CSV 都不要求必须分享 App。

一次性买断包含什么？

Non-Consumable 一次性买断项目提供不限量的新汉字查询，不是订阅。即使没有购买，已经学过的汉字仍可继续查看。

如何恢复购买？

打开 设置，在 新汉字查询 中选择 恢复购买，并完成家长验证。请确认设备登录的是最初购买时使用的 Apple 账户。

如果仍然无法恢复，请检查“屏幕使用时间”中是否允许 App Store 购买，并在网络稳定时重试。

如何申请退款？

所有付款和退款申请均由 Apple 处理。请访问 reportaproblem.apple.com，使用购买时的 Apple 账户登录，并按照 Apple 的提示操作。

Apple 完成退款或撤销购买后，App 在收到更新后的权益状态时会移除不限量查询新汉字的权限。已经学过的汉字仍可继续查看。

为什么不能使用语音查询？

请在 iOS 设置中确认已经允许本 App 使用麦克风和语音识别。语音识别还可能受到 Apple 服务状态、网络、语言支持和设备限制的影响。即使未授予这些权限，仍可手动输入查询。

为什么分享列表中没有微信？

本 App 使用 iOS 标准分享界面，并分享兼容微信的图片。只有已安装并登录微信，且微信可用于 iOS 分享列表时，微信才会出现。可以滑动分享 App 列表，选择 更多，并在系统提供该选项时启用微信。

如何清除本地信息？

在 App 的设置中可以清除最近查询或输入记录。删除 App 会移除普通本地文件和偏好设置。试用汉字和邀请奖励状态可能保存在 iOS 钥匙串中，以避免重新安装后重置免费额度。

如何导出练习输入记录？

免费用户和付费用户都可以导出 CSV，不需要先完成邀请分享。打开 设置，选择 导出 CSV，然后在 iOS 导出界面中选择保存位置。文件在设备本地生成，本 App 不会上传或接收导出的文件。
